We accept all credit cards as long as the 16 digit number on the front of the credit card is raised and not flat. We require a credit card at the time of handing over the vehicle to the client. We do an imprint of the card. This imprint needs to be legible.
We do a an authorisation on the Hirer's credit card within 72hours of your hire starting. This excess amount is frozen in your account for the duration of the hire and unfrozen released once the hire has ended, and final inspection & refuelling have been done back at the depot and all damages have been quoted on. If the vehicle is returned over a weekend, final inspection & damages quotes will only be done when the office opens on Monday. The excess will be released once the contract is finalized. The hire amounts will be put through on the credit card once you have received the vehicle. Cash payments for the actual hire can only be done if arranged with management prior to the hire. The excess and deposit is credit card only.
We do not accept cash for the deposit and excess. WE do however accept LOW excess deposits if the clients can produce 3 months bank statements with a current rates bill showing your proof of address. The EXCESS DEPOSIT amount is frozen on a CREDIT CARD the money does not leave your account it IS frozen in your account. You may pay cash for the car hire upon commencement of hire by prior arrangement with Carisma Management only BUT excess DEPOSIT is credit card only.
We have now implemented this charge but still keeping the low rate of R150.00 for the first Additional driver and R250.00 each for any further additional driver. We do require clear Photostat copies of all valid DRIVERS licences and either valid PASSPORT copy or IDENTITY copy. We cannot hand over a vehicle without these LEGIBLE CLEAR copies. Nobody can drive the vehicle unless we have all their details on the contract and they have signed the contract.

- If we are delivering to you please have copies of your drivers licence and ID or passport at hand to the Carisma staff.

Yes we do deliver to the airport. We can meet you in the Arrivals lounge on your arrival and on your departure we will arrange an exact time to meet you at the DROP and GO ZONE up the ramp.
The minimum age to hire is 18 years old-enquire about the young driver's surcharges. There is no maximum age to hire, however for people under the age of 23 years and over the age of 75 years, the excess will double and an extra once off charge of R350 per 30 days will be charged do enquire!
Yes but we still require the booking form with all their personal details to be filled in, as long as they are the credit card holder and main hirer and we have all there personal particulars.
If you return early you will lose the balance of your prebooked period of hire. Extensions will only be allowed if there is availability of an extension. Do contact Carisma offices in due time to check if there is availability to extend your hire.
- All rates include Standard Cover plus a refundable Excess (payable by the hirer)
- Standard Cover is compulsory.
- Unfortunately if the tyres,windows/glass, upholstery,radios/Cd Player, mags,rims,hubcaps, tyres, immoboliser, keys are damaged or lost the client is liable for these. There is no cover on these items.
- Cover, whether standard or super cover, does not apply when the hirer is EG: Example- criminally negligent EG: being involved in an accident while driving under the influence of alcohol etc - Do see all Terms of Hire in detail.
Clients must obtain written authorization from McHire should they wish to cross a border. Enquire about border crossing fees with McHire.
NO, our bakkies are only 1 ton and 1.3 ton. A Normal code 8 unendorsed license is adequate.

We do a minimum of a 3 day hire for cars. And 1 day minimum for Bakkies. 1 days is 24 hours long. Please contact Carisma in advance to make a booking for a long term hire.
Yes we have both seats available to hire please book in advance during school holidays to avoid disappointment.

An automatic quotation will be generated this does not mean the vehicle is booked. Always ensure you check oil and water on the vehicle when ever you filling up at the petrol station. If by some chance the vehicle requires OIL please put oil into the vehicle and keep the slip we will reimburse you for this. Phone Carisma immediately if there are any problems with the vehicle or noises you are not happy with we will rectify the problem as soon as humanly possible or swop you into another vehicle at everyones earliest convenience. Treat the vehicle like its your own vehicle.
We charge extra for towing and only have towbars on one or two vehicles, its not something we promote. So do enquire
